I have never been the type of person to make New Year resolution and stick to them. I have never made a vision board. I make goals for myself and try my best to accomplish them each year. I find that as I get older, I have goals that are more serious than before, and affect not only me, but my entire family unit. I have been in my wilderness for a while; wandering around like a nomad with no direction in particular, and in order for me to accomplish the major things I have started; it’s time I found the hope in my wilderness. The hope to finish all that I have started and to do even more and eliminate the fear that has been holding me back. 2021 is just a month away, and it is time we take our fate into our hands and not make lemonade out of lemons, but the best damn irresistible lemon chiffon pie you have ever had in your life. We do not need a trailer for the year ahead because we will survive and thrive no matter what!
I believe we allow fear and uncertainty to overtake us at times and it becomes crippling. Fear and uncertainty are a dynamic duo that will paralyze even the best of us. We cannot move. We cannot create. We get just stuck in the moment with an inability to do what we know we want to do. Why? Fear of the unknown. The unknown is just that – unknown, and there is absolutely nothing that we can do about it. We must keep going through to get to the other side. What is on the other side? That is the beauty of the unknown, we do not know what is on the other side, we only know what we hope to be there once we finish creating and working toward our goals. I do not know about you, but I have allowed fear to hold me back for far too long. I have allowed other people’s fear to seep into my subconscious and create an unrealistic fear within me.
How can we eliminate that fear of the unknown? Instead of fearing the unknown, we need to have a curiosity of the unknown. Seek the unknown. Look forward to what the unknown holds because it can and may be extremely rewarding. Get out of your comfort zone. If you do what you have always done, you will never see or experience anything new. You cannot reach your potential when fear is holding you back. Fear of the unknown is a roadblock; something blocking your path to bigger and better things in life. I want bigger and better things in life. As we all should. I do not want status; I do not need it, but I want the ability to leave my children a legacy that they can be proud of. Status would just be an added bonus to the hard work I have put in. I have realized throughout this year; I must accept fear and then I must conquer it. I cannot allow fear to conquer me or I will always be stuck in the same place, stuck in my own personal ‘Groundhog’s Day.’ I encourage you to get out of your head and eliminate your fear of the unknown by getting curious, and doing what you know within your heart you are capable of doing.💋💋
